A Little About me,

MASUMI is a Japanese-American artist whose work spans film, television, and video game worlds. Born in Los Angeles and raised between Japan and the U.S., she is completely bilingual in English and Japanese—an identity she brings to life with power, precision, and pride in every performance.

Her artistic journey began with a guitar in hand, singing original songs in small cafés and later touring internationally.

Music taught her how to tell the truth through art—a skill that now defines her on-screen presence.

MASUMI made her breakout acting debut as the lead in Yakuza Princess, an action-thriller co-produced by Warner Brothers. Starring opposite Jonathan Rhys Meyers and Tsuyoshi Ihara, she trained intensively in katana and martial arts, performing her own stunts. Despite it being her very first acting role, the film captivated international audiences and landed in Netflix’s Top 10 globally, marking her arrival as a formidable new talent.

Her trajectory has continued upward with a Guest Star role on NCIS: Hawai’i (CBS) and is set to appear as a recurring Guest Star in a major Apple TV+ sci-fi series premiering in late 2025. On the big screen, she stars opposite Jaime King in the feature film The Weight of the Darkness releasing in 2025 as well.

In gaming, MASUMI stars as NAOE—the lead playable character in Assassin’s Creed Shadows, released in March 2025. The groundbreaking Ubisoft title introduces the franchise’s first Japanese female protagonist, and MASUMI’s performance has already made cultural waves worldwide. Her continued involvement in the expanding narrative further underscores her deep impact on the project and its global fan base.

In recognition of her rising influence, MASUMI was invited to present at the 2025 BAFTA Games Awards in London—a milestone that reflects her growing stature across mediums and markets.

Known for her emotionally resonant portrayals of strong, multidimensional women, MASUMI is drawn to stories that explore power, identity, and transformation. With every project, she expands what’s possible for Japanese and Japanese-American voices on screen and in culture—shaping the future of storytelling one fearless performance at a time.
